Last night, Debra and I went to the Boots and Barrels event at the Special Liberty Project Farm & Retreat Center in Franklin, NC, and it was such a fun and meaningful night that we had to share it with you.
Fun, Food, and Cowboy Chic
The theme was Cowboy Chic, so folks threw on their boots and hats and headed to the farm. From 6 to 7:30 pm, there was a fun social hour with beer, wine, and cocktails. People were mingling, bidding on silent auction items, and checking out the beautiful farm space where veterans and Gold Star families come for retreats. It was a great way to meet others and learn about the place.
A Delicious Dinner and Big-Time Bidding
Dinner was catered by Riverwalk Grille, and it was amazing – steak, salad, coleslaw, and more. After dinner, things got exciting with a live auction featuring trips around the world and even a tour of the bourbon trail in Kentucky! The room was full of energy, and it was great seeing how much the community wanted to support the cause.
Helping Veterans and Gold Star Families
The event was more than just a good time. It was all about helping the Special Liberty Project, which supports veterans and Gold Star Families, including those who’ve lost loved ones to suicide. The group offers outdoor retreats, nature-based healing, and a strong sense of community for families and veterans who need support.
Why This Matters
We left the event feeling thankful. It was a night full of laughs, great food, and generous people – all coming together to help those who’ve given so much. If you want to know more or support this great cause, visit Special Liberty Project Programs.
