This past Saturday, May 18, we took a delightful trip to the Macon County Farmers Market. The air was filled with the sweet aroma of fresh produce and blooming flowers as we strolled through the lively market. I was instantly drawn to the colorful array of tomato plants, and Lee couldn’t resist picking up some yellow zucchini and crisp cucumbers. With our basket quickly filling up, we decided to add a couple of jalapeno plants to spice up our garden at home.

The market, held every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM from May to November, was buzzing with energy and friendly faces, making it easy for us to immerse ourselves in the local vibe. Located in Franklin, NC, on Iotla Street by the Gazebo on the Square, we explored each stall, chatting with the vendors about their farms and produce. Fresh vegetables were plentiful, and we couldn’t leave without grabbing a bunch of vibrant, fresh-cut flowers to brighten our kitchen table. Every corner of the market offered something unique, from homemade jams to artisanal crafts, creating a perfect setting for our Saturday morning adventure.

To cap off our visit, we indulged in a refreshing homemade strawberry lemonade drink. The tangy-sweet beverage was the perfect treat as we relaxed under the shade, reflecting on our fruitful morning. The Macon County Farmers Market not only provided us with a bounty of garden delights and fresh veggies but also a memorable experience filled with community spirit and local charm. We left with our hearts full and our bags even fuller, eagerly anticipating our next market visit.
